Julia Weaver Audio Clip

Finding Emilie- 21 minutes

I really like this clip. The story is beautiful, flows well and doesn't seem nearly as long as it is. While I don't usually expect to hear a story like this as an audio piece, after listening to it I feel that audio tells it best. The listener is not distracted by gruesome pictures or the appearance of the individuals speaking and can focus the story at hand. Also, given the condition of Emilie, the subject of the work, choosing to just use audio is kind of symbolic. On a more technical note the transitions between speakers are flawless and the cell phone recording towards the end of the piece really grabs your attention.
